HOW TO GET THERE
Driving to River Heads
From Brisbane travel north on the Bruce Highway to Maryborough then follow the signs to Hervey Bay. You will come to a well signposted right hand turn to River Heads. Follow this road and signs to River Heads. You will end up in the barge ramp car park the ticket office is on the right.

From the north and Bundaberg follow the Bruce Highway south. Turn off the highway at Torbanlea following signs to Hervey Bay. You will come to a T junction, turn left and then, almost immediately, right which is signed River Heads and Kingfisher Bay Resort barge ramp. Follow this road and signs to River Heads. You will end up in the barge ramp car park the ticket office is on the right.

Driving to Urangan Boat Harbour, Hervey Bay
From Brisbane travel north on the Bruce Highway to Maryborough then follow the signs to Hervey Bay. Stay on the main road, which becomes Boat Harbour Drive. Follow the signs to Urangan Boat Harbour.

From the north and Bundaberg follow the Bruce highway south. Turn off at Torbanlea following signs to Hervey Bay. Stay on the main road, which becomes Boat Harbour Drive. Follow the signs to Urangan Boat Harbour.

TIDES 
Driving on Fraser Island’s Seventy-Five Mile Beach is subject to tides and the general rule is to make sure you are off the beach for two hours either side of the high tide. Tide times are available on the Bureau of Meteorology website.

PERMITS
Vehicle access permits are required for all vehicles entering the island. Camping Permits are also required in advance for camping. Permits may be obtained from River Heads Barge Office, at Kingfisher Bay Resort reception and at Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service offices including Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Bundaberg and Rainbow Beach.

SUPPLIES AND SERVICES
General stores are available Eurong Beach Resort and Kingfisher Bay Resort providing groceries, bread, alcohol, fuel, bait, ice, meat, vegetables, souvenirs, resort wear, camping equipment, fishing gear, postage facilities and telephones. These resorts also have restaurants, bars, bakeries and coffee shops.

There is a Police Station at Eurong. First aid and emergency medical assistance can be obtained from the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service ranger stations. In the event of an emergency please call 000.
